Hemkund means Snow Lake and is one of the more famous shrines of the Sikhs. Hemkund Sahib Uttarakhand is situated at an altitude of about 4,329 meters above sea level, in the Himalayan state. Hemkund Sahib is covered by seven mountains, which, together, as Hemkund Parvat, which covered with snow almost all year asked not to be. Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara is the structure of the sacred pilgrimage of the Sikhs, which was built in the shape of a star. The entire structure is built of stone and cement. It was built in memory of Guru Gobind Singh.

Lakshman Temple

This is a beautiful temple on a small side of the Hemkund Lake, Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama is dedicated. This isalso one of the most famous temples flooded by a large number of Hindus every year.

Hemkund Lake

Hemkund Lake is also known by the name of Lake Lokpal. Its crystal waters presents a cheerful surroundings. The lake is fed by snow melting peak of Hathi Parvat and Saptrishi.

To reach Hemkund Saheb

By Air: The nearest airport is to reach Hemkund Sahib Jolly Grant, which is Dehradun (307 km), the capital of Uttarakhand. Thisconnected by Kingfisher Airlines from Delhi on a daily basis. Rent from Dehradun, you must cover the distance by road or taxi to Uttarakhand Transport Corporation bus lanes Govindghat. From Govindghat, you must travel a distance of 19 km on foot.

By train: nearest station to Hemkund Sahib are Rishikesh (293 km) and Haridwar (310 km). Some of the main features that connect to other cities are Rishikesh Doon Express from Howrah Junction and Hemkunt ExpressJammu Tawi on a routine basis. From Rishikesh can hire a taxi or you can travel in Uttarakhand Roadways Transport Corporation bus, get Govindghat, from which it takes to travel the remaining distance on foot.

By car: Hemkund Sahib is at a distance of 19 km away from Govindghat Ghangaria that is accessible on foot. Govindghat is connected by road to Rishikesh (270 km) and other towns of Uttarakhand.
